Litter – Adopt-a-Street

Do you love where you live and would like to help keep it looking clean and tidy? Then join the Wick and Abson Parish Council Adopt-a-Street scheme and, like others who pick litter voluntarily already, make a difference to your community.

All you have to do is:

  • Tell us which street or area of land you would like to adopt (public land only unless you have permission from the landowner).
  • Give a commitment to litter pick your chosen site on a regular basis at your convenience

You can use your black bin at home or the litter bins around the villages for disposing of any litter you collect but if you find the volume you are collecting is an issue then please contact Waste.Management@southglos.gov.uk  and someone will assist you.

In return for your commitment, Wick and Abson Parish Council will loan you:

  • Litter picking equipment- picker, gloves, hoop, bags
  • Guidance on health and safety

South Gloucestershire Council will still be carrying out litter picking and street cleansing duties as well as a range of other activities to encourage people to dispose of their litter responsibly. Together we can help keep Wick and Abson clean and tidy.

Currently, we have volunteers covering the following areas:

Naishcombe Hill

Rock Road

Cleeve Lane

Barrow Hill

Manor Road

The Triangle

Village Hall car park

High Street

Riding Barn Hill

Court View

Oldbury Lane

Holbrook Lane
